The Vision

The goal of the D2D initiative is to enhance the recreational and physical education experience for Shorewood residents of all ages. D2D aims to become a catalyst for improving housing demand, increasing school enrollment, cultivating community interaction and pride, ensuring local business success and further enriching the overall quality of life in the Village.

The People

D2D is comprised of an all-volunteer group of concerned Shorewood residents, administrators, and officials.

The project has been endorsed by a resolution of the Shorewood School Board.

Drive to Distinction (D2D) is Shorewood’s ambitious effort to raise nearly $5.6 million to renovate Shorewood High School’s outdoor athletic facilities. Our schools define our community, and the Shorewood High School campus is the centerpiece. The current facilities have not been renovated in over 30 years. The field, track, bleachers, concession area, and softball field are all in need of immediate attention. It is vital that these facilities reflect Shorewood’s commitment to enhancing academic and athletic excellence in our public schools and our entire community.

Nearly $3 million has already been raised for this project. That’s a great start, but much more will be needed to make this dream become a reality!
